OSP offers 24 channel high quality digital mobile recording services. We provide everything required to capture your project at its fullest potential. We track at 24Bit 48K (DVD qaulity) and have the ability to record 24 tracks continuasly for many hours. Our system allows us to mix on-site for a quick and efficient test CD, or in the case of conferances, we can print up to 35 CDs per hour for your visitors to take*. OSP also feature a in house high-spec digital hybrid editing suite. We call it 'hybrid' because we use a world class D&R Triton analog recording console to mix and retain the natural warmth and characteristics of recorded sound, and then we edit sound on our high end digital audio workstation system - giving us the best of both worlds. OSP are experts in live, on-location recording. We have many years experience in recording corporate conferances, theatre, live bands and large scale events. All of our equipment is new and well maintained, our crew are professional and our service is top rate. *Live CD burning is dependent on the length of the recorded material. A single CD will hold 74 minutes of audio material. |

Mobile recording for bands
When experienced musicians get in front of a crowd, they tend to "raise the bar" in terms of the energy and excitement in their playing. Many musicians at one time or another have been in a studio session where it "just didn't feel right" and couldn't figure out why.
Even the best musicians sometimes take on a different character or get flustered when removed from their everyday setting. The goal of live recording is to capture the feel of a musical group as they would be on any given night - without the discomfort of headphones, lack of eye contact, and disconcerting sounds of an unfamiliar room. Some musical genres are just never quite right when removed from their normal live setting. Why spend extra time getting comfortable in a studio when your group is already comfortable on stage? Why spend extra money striving for something in the studio that you already get when you perform live?
We focus on keeping reasonable prices that you can afford. Instead of dragging all your gear into an expensive recording studio with a complicated setup, and difficult schedules, we record at your gig or rehearsal, on your schedule, where you already are. We use portable, professional-quality, all-digital multi-track equipment that's quick to set up, and unobtrusive to your fans and your band.

OSP flat-rate special: Our flat-rate special is designed to help budgeting for recording projects. This rate features our normal full live recording service, up to 24 channels at 48k, 24bit. We also throw in the mix and mastering on our D&R Triton, a Master CD with all the final mixed tracks and (if required) a remix 3-4min medley of tracks for your website or demo CD.Total price is $580 (+GST), including final master CD. This is an all up total price that includes all of the required equipment to record. Maximum final record time is 74 minutes (CD limitations).
What the flat rate dosnt include: Though we are flexible enough normally to work with you on schedule to record the band, the band is not invited back to the studio to sit in on mixing. We mix all tracks with what we call a 'basic mix' through our console. This is mixed to a satifactory level as to be exceptable to be played on radio broadcast. All tracks are mastered with a basic preset to level the music for radio. The mixing process could take up to 2 weeks to complete depending on work load. The original tracking 'masters' are avilable to purchase if the band require.
Any extra overdubbing, editing, comping or processing is chargable at our standard rate ($65 per hour). If the band (or members of) are required to sit in on mixing, that session will be charged also at our normal rate.
Capturing the Soul, the Magic, the Energy and the Essence of your Live performance is what we are all about.

Background
Experience matters. Since 1998 we have been solely recording audio and video plus we have extensive background in live staging and event productions. Some of our venues include the Bruce Masion Centre, Sky City Convention Centre, The Hilton Hotel, The Hyatt, Langholm Hotel(Sheraton) and Auckland Showgrounds.
While we take recording very seriously, we are also musicians at heart and have a genuine interest in creating better music. Owner/operator Jacko Andrews has over 20 years experience in orchestras, live bands and recording. He can sight read music, play many instruments and has advance understanding of music theory and practices. You know you are working with a true musician, not just a studio sound guy.
