Website Design

If you are not on the Internet these days, people assume you're not in business. Setting up an effective website is simple now, and is well within the budgets of most small businesses.  No where else can you express the style and services of your business for so little, 24 hours of the day.  Compared with traditional media advertising, website promotion is by far the best performing and cost effective choice.

OSP are Website designers, not marketing experts - but we can suggest tactics for your business to take with your Internet promotion, though in the end it is up to you to decide the best course of action.

Costs

Setting a reasonable budget is difficult when you don't know what you are getting until it is done. Such is the case with any creative process, but at OSP we can help your budget go further by keeping things simple.

On average it cost around $150 per year to host a website and rent domain space (the 'www.yoursite.co.nz' part). These are unavoidable cost everyone has to pay and OSP can suggest providers we recommend for you to contact.

Website design however is a blank canvas.  OSP would recommend a client consider setting a budget around 10% of their expected return of the site for the first year.  If you wanted your new site to generate $20,000 extra income for your business this year, set a budget of $2000.  Some of this we put towards design, some towards promotion and marketing.

If your budget is really tight, OSP can work with you.  It is advisable to have at least $500 to throw at a new site, even if most of that is used simply to promote your business on Google.  Don't worry too much about flashy graphics, it is your business that is important to sell, not your web designers skill with Photoshop.
