Welcome to On Stage Childrens Theatre an opportunity for your child to experience the fun of drama and learn some new skills which will help them in the future.

Onstage Children's Theate is based in Birkenhead at the clubrooms of North Shore Music Theatre who are a leading theatre company on the Shore. The students will have the opportunity to be taught by experts in the theatre and will be able to practice and perform for you and the wider community throughout the year.

The students will be working on such things as

  • Clear communication
  • Improvization
  • Character work
  • Mime/movement
  • Vocal techniques
  • Theatre workshops
  • Teamwork

Term Dates 2010

Term 1:  Tuesday 2nd Feb- Thursday 1st April

Term 2- Monday 19th April- Friday 2nd July

Term 3- Monday 19th July- Friday 24th September

Term 4- Monday 11th October- Friday 17th December

 

Classes

 

Classes will take place on Wednesdays

5-8 year class - 4pm-5pm

9-11year class- 5pm-6pm

12-18year class- 6pm-7pm

First class will commence Wednesday 17th Feb

Note you can join the class at anytime

Each class is 60mins long. Students need to be there promptly

In order to get the best benefit from the classes and to keep the students focused we like to keep our classes closed to spectators.
There will be a class at the end of each term open for parents to come and see as well as a performance at the end of the year.

Venue

For the first month the venue will be Glenfield Community Centre due to a production taking place at NSMT

As of the 10th March classes will take place at

North Shore Music Theatre Clubrooms

(Next to the Scouts building)

Cost

5-8year olds- $95 per term

9-11year olds - $95 per term

12-18 year olds - $120 per term

Payment must be made at the beginning of each term
Payments made at the beginning of the first class will get a $5 discount

Tutor- Tracey Andrews (B.Ed, Dip Tching)

I have been involved in theatre since I was 7 years old and have done over 40 shows doing jobs such as Directing, Stage Management, Acting, Lighting, Sound and Backstage Crew. I have been on the North Shore Music Theatre committee for over 8 years and in 2008 was their President .Last year I Directed the theatre's first youth production of High School Musical Jr.

I have been teaching for 10 years at primary and intermediate level as well as various Drama classes. I am currently a drama Specialist at Howick Intermdiate and in charge of creating school productions, stage challenge performances, performances for exhibitions, gifted and talented drama in primary schools and also stage managing the Mid Bays music festival.
